Using Covered Scan to check guests in

Opening the scanner

From an event, open Scan. It uses your device's camera to read tickets in real time, with a live “Checked in X of Y” counter at the top. If a phone has no camera access or a QR code won't scan, you can also type in the guest's confirmation code manually as a fallback.

What each result means

  • Admitted — a valid, first-time scan.

  • Already used — shows when it was previously scanned and by whom.

  • Wrong event — the ticket is valid, but for a different event to the one you're scanning at.

  • Invalid ticket

  • Cancelled/refunded — do not admit

Checking in a group at once

For a booking with a party size greater than one, a single scan can admit more than one person from that booking at a time — you'll be able to choose how many of the party have arrived, rather than needing a separate scan per person.

Overriding an “already used” result

You can override and admit the guest anyway, but you'll need to give a reason (and optionally a note) — this is logged along with which staff member made the override.
