Connecting Stripe to get paid
Why you need this first
Covered uses Stripe to process payments and pay you out — you can't take a single paid booking until this is connected, so it's worth doing before you publish your first event. Stripe accounts are set up for UK businesses only, matching Covered's own UK-only launch.
Connecting your account
Go to Settings → Payments & payouts and select “Connect with Stripe.” You'll be taken to Stripe's own onboarding to enter your business and bank details. If you leave onboarding part-way through, the button will read “Continue onboarding” next time — just pick up where you left off. Once Stripe confirms you can both take charges and receive payouts, your status changes to Active, and the button becomes “Manage on Stripe,” which takes you straight to your Stripe dashboard.
Choosing who pays the booking fee
On the same page, choose how Covered's booking fee is handled:
We'll absorb the booking fee — customers pay exactly the ticket price.
Pass the booking fee to customers — the fee is shown as a separate line at checkout.
Also on this page
Settings → Payments & payouts is also where you set a notification email for chargebacks & disputes (see “What happens when a guest disputes a charge”).
