Creating and tracking UTM links
What a UTM link is
A UTM link is an ordinary link to your public venue or brand page with a few extra tracking parameters tacked on — source, medium, and campaign. When someone clicks it and later makes a booking, Covered can tie that booking back to exactly which link brought them in.
Why they're useful
Without one, you only know a booking happened — not what actually drove it. UTM links let you compare channels directly: whether an Instagram bio link, a specific email, or a paid ad is actually converting into bookings, so you know what's worth doing more of.
Creating a link
Promote → UTM links → New. Give it a Label (internal only — for your own reference, recipients never see it), plus Source, Medium, and Campaign, which become the real tracking parameters on the generated link (e.g. instagram / bio_link / summer_launch).
A link always points at your whole public page, not one specific event, since a visitor might end up booking anything during that visit. You can toggle a link Active or Inactive — an inactive link is never attributed at checkout, useful for retiring an old campaign without losing its history.
Checking performance
Insights → UTM Report shows bookings and revenue per link, over a date range you choose — broken down by the same source, medium, campaign and label you set when creating it.
